DREAM RIVER
Caribbean River Cruiser
4 berth, 39', Forward control.
Powered by Perkins 4107, Hydraulic gearbox and drive
Built Horning circa 1970's Complete refit Eastwoods 2007
This craft was originally built by Frank Wilds at Horning in the 1970's as a Broads Hire Cruiser, one of several hundreds that were built. They were highly succesful and are found still in hire fleets all over Europe, the majority now though are in private hands. In a hire fleet they often were fitted out to sleep up to 10 people, they had to be good friends!
What made the Caribbean so succesfull in the 1970's is still good and right for today. The craft is stable and strong, has wide side decks with plenty of handholds, She has a deep safe cockpit for the crew to sit in safety where the helmsman can see they are all secure when underway. When moored that same cockpit becomes a useful addition of space to the saloon for sitting or eating, especiallywhen the cover is fitted. The Caribbean also is light and airy with large windows to all cabins.
Dream River was brought ashore at Eastwoods Marina in 2005 and over the next two years was stripped down to the fiberglass shell and completly refitted as a no nonsense luxury 2/4 berth river cruiser. Fitted out internally with sumptuous light american oak veneers with an oak laminate cabin sole it resulted in an exceptionally light and spacious craft which is completly unique and draws admiring looks wherever she moors.
She was refinshed externally with a polyurethane paint system which is exceptionally hard wearing. All windows were removed and resealed before being refitted. All wiring was replaced during the refit
